Community Leaders
Meagan and David are both avid travelers and adventurers. They met while working at a refugee resettlement office in Phoenix, Arizona. They married in 2017 and have two beautiful children.
David Schlinkert
David can’t get enough of Arizona State University. He has a Ph.D. in Transborder Studies, a Master’s in Public Administration and a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication. David is a global public administration and research leader with extensive experience with statistics, quantitative and qualitative research methods, public policy writing and analysis, grant writing, program design, nonprofit board leadership, and video production. He learned Spanish while backpacking from Argentina to Arizona by bus for 18 months.
Meagan Young Schlinkert
Meagan has two degrees from Baylor University: Masters in Public Health and a B.S. in Community Health Education, and she is presently working on her Ph.D. at Arizona State University. She is a community health leader, partnership builder and an expert at quality improvement (especially in healthcare settings). She also has extensive experience conducting research in international settings, and has a proven track record of procuring and managing funds from local, state and federal grantors.
